I can’t believe it has been over a month since I performed at the Tamerri Festival in Abuja. Abuja is a beautiful city with hills and valleys, perfect for hiking – which I didn’t get to do but maybe next time!
The crew that put the Tamerri Festival together are not only visionaries but they also LOVE good music. There is always a difference in the way a show is coordinated when the organizers and planners have a love for live music. Attention is paid to important elements; from the stage, to the artists chosen, to the quality of the house band and I was suitably impressed and honored to be a part of an inaugural initiative that will definitely raise the bar for live and alternative music in Nigeria.
Here are a few behind-the-scenes pictures from my experience below:
Band rehearsals
Bumped into Bez and his band
At the venue, this was the only place to hang my stage clothes lol
On stage:
Although I wasn’t able to get a soundcheck in, the show was awesome and the crowd was truly engaged, warm and attentive.
