Last night, I performed at the UNESCO sponsored Runway Jazz event featuring Kirk Whalum, Omawumi, Yinka Davies, Tosin Alao, Chee and a few other incredible artists. I was specifically asked to sing my song ‘Bring Them Home’ in an effort to continue to create awareness for the Chibok Girls’ abduction tragedy.
Besides the music, there were a few fashion designers who showcased their pieces and I was honored to wear a dress by one of them – Queen Ahneva Ahneva.
She is especially known for her elaborate statement pieces that are just right for any stage performer.
Here are some pictures below:
Fabulous hand-beaded neckline, just right for a pianist singer – because I’m mostly visible from the waist up.
Unique sleeves that flowed so beautiful and made it easy to play the piano while looking stylish at the same time.
Singer-songwriter, dancer, Nigerian Idol judge, Yinka Davies and I backstage after she killed it on stage! Love her!
Singer-songwriter Omawumi and I talking about her amazing jazz arrangements/live album coming soon. Can’t wait for you to hear what she’s up to. Love her!
So now you got the fashion scoop. Here’s the sound scoop – Watch/hear my performance below.
